SPIRIT WEEK 2009 PHOTOS
- The STAR
Academy includes three facets to help students with academic
achievement. The first facet includes Saturday Math, which is a
voluntary program for all 8th grade students to come and prepare
for the NJASK 8 that they will be taking in the near future. The
students have the opportunity to work with math certified teachers
in a small group setting from 9:15-11:45am. The second facet
includes Study Island, which is also a voluntary program for 6th
and 7th grade students who have a Study Island account. The
students come in and individually work on either math or language
arts skills in the computer lab while being supervised by a Carusi
teacher. The third facet includes Student Support, which is a
mandatory program for students who chronically miss assignments or
turn them in late. This program is by invitation only so
parents/guardians will be contacted by the grade level supervisor
if their child should attend. All students are given a snack at
the end of each session including pizza, soda, and cookies. If you

Ribbon Week News:
- A
district wide contest sponsored by the Cherry Hill
Alliance for Drug and Alcohol Abuse was held with the
theme "Can You Hear Me Now? I Don't Do Drugs!" Participants created
posters or wrote essays relating to this theme. Carusi
Middle School is proud of the following poster and essay
contest winners. All winners were recognized in a
ceremony and received a prize from the Alliance.
